「3.11東日本大震災 清月記活動の記録」を読ませていただいて（工場長こと古家寛） |

3月初旬、株式会社清月記様から、
「3.11東日本大震災 清月記活動の記録 鎮魂と追悼の誠を捧げて」という
震災記録書を会社にお送りいただき、読ませていただきました。
震災～納棺～仮埋葬（土葬）～掘り起こし（火葬）の当時の状況が
時系列で丁寧に記録された書物です。
市販されておらず、葬儀関係者、自治体などに、
情報共有のために制作・配布されたそうです。
震災発生時からの記録が丁寧に記録されている本書ですが、
特に4月4日からの仮埋葬の記録は、日誌のように日々の記録が残されています。
スタッフの行動の詳細や、その時々の感情、また、作業の過酷さが、
時間の経過に沿ってリアルに伝わってきます。
逆に見れば、4月4日以前の震災発生～納棺時は、
日々の記録を残すこともできない程、大変な状況だったのでしょう。
（それでも、納棺に関しても多くの記録が残されています）
毎日の記録があるからこそ、逆に「記録が無い日」の様子も鑑みることができます。
掘り起こし作業では、棺から体液や血液を抜く作業の様子が、
文章や写真に記されていました。この生々しさが現実であり、
この作業を体験した者とそうでない者とでは、
ご遺体の扱いや埋葬に対する感性は違ってくるだろうと思います。
また、このような記録を除くことができないから、
一般販売が難しかったのかもしれません。
（非常に価値ある記録書ですが）
仮埋葬は、そもそも掘り起こし作業を前提とした「仮」埋葬です。
ただ、この日々の記録を読むにつれ、行政主導の土葬による仮埋葬が適切だったか、
次に同じような惨事が起こることを想定すると、改めて検証が必要ではないか・・・
そう考える次第です。
記録を見る限り、作業する葬儀社のスタッフも、ご遺族も、
この掘り起こし作業が最も過酷な作業だったように思います。
土葬が避けられないにしても、出来る限り腐敗を防ぐ想定（環境・場所など）が、
予めできていれば・・・とも思います。
また、このような記録を読むと、
今生きていることの有難さを感じるのは当然ですが、
「普通に死ねること」も相当に有難いことなのではないかと思います。
また読み直す日があるでしょう。
